Kayla Davidson

Registered Associate

Being able to work alongside such brave, inspiring, deserving individuals on their healing journey is one of my greatest privileges. My goal is for each person that enters my room to feel cared for, listened to, and understood. Healing can be messy and scary, but shedding the layers of past versions of you is necessary to embody the person you were always meant to be.

Kayla Davidson

Kayla’s approach to psychotherapy is rooted with compassion, authenticity, transparency, and empathy. She believes that when she shows up as her highest self, it welcomes the same for others. Kayla views each individual as a complete, whole being that has shifted, changed and evolved during their unique experience on Earth. While she chooses to view each client as who they are today, she believes much of the healing work happens by reflecting and looking at the past with fresh new eyes.

Kayla uses a holistic approach that will require going deep with oneself through love and self-compassion. She may encourage mindfulness exercises such as guided meditation, guided or free-hand journaling, intuitive movement, connecting with nature, and more. Kayla focuses on inner-child healing, trauma healing, and building a strong relationship to oneself.

Kayla has been trained to use Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) for trauma processing and healing. She has completed an intensive skills training in Dialectic Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and Motivational Interviewing (MI). Kayla is always expanding her counseling toolbox and hopes to watch this list grow through time and experience.

Life can cause heartache, devastation, depression but with a safe space to be expressive and feel encouraged to build a deep connection to oneself, Kayla believes life can always maintain its beauty and sacredness.

Education and Experience

Kayla’s education starts with a Bachelor’s degree in Health Science Education in 2019 followed by an earned Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling in January 2024. Kayla completed her counseling degree at Grand Canyon University which required a 700-hour counseling internship that was completed in western South Dakota at a community mental health agency.

Throughout her internship, Kayla held space for families and individuals to learn more about themselves and work towards healing. Kayla worked under two highly knowledgeable supervisors who guided her through the process of providing counseling for her first time. Kayla was fortunate enough to attend several trainings, observe other clinicians in session, and welcome observants to her sessions for feedback.

Beyond the books and curriculum, Kayla has been on a healing journey herself. She has filled several journals with thoughts, feelings and ideas, read countless self-help books, listened to hundreds of wellness podcasts, removed toxic substances from her life, and dove head first into the world of spirituality. With her professional knowledge and her personal experience, Kayla is eager to get to know each one of her clients and meet them right where they are.

Kayla adheres to the Code of Ethics as outlined by the Oregon Board of Licensed Professional Counselors.
