Fees

The fee for service is: Initial 60 minute Clinical Interview & Diagnosis: $180; $175 per 53 minute session thereafter. If you are utilizing private insurance, the cost of your session will be designated by your insurance company. If for some reason you find that you are unable to continue paying for your therapy, please inform us and we will help you consider any options that may be available to you at that time.

If any of our staff members at Ocean Mist Counseling receive a Subpoena to appear at any legal proceedings that you become involved in, you will be expected to pay for our professional time even if we are called to testify by another party. We charge our hourly rate of $175 per hour for preparation and attendance at any legal proceedings. This includes travel time to and from any legal proceedings. This fee is not covered by insurance and must be paid with either cash, check, debit, or credit card at the end of the day of any legal proceedings that we are required to participate in.

Under the law, health care providers need to give clients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the expected charges for medical services, including psychotherapy services.

You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency healthcare services, including psychotherapy services.

You can ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule a service, or at any time during treatment.

If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.

For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, or how to dispute a bill, see your Estimate, or visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises.

Scheduling and Cancellation

Sessions are typically scheduled weekly or bi-weekly (sometimes more or less depending on need) at the same time and day each week if possible. Your consistent attendance greatly contributes to a successful outcome. In order to cancel or reschedule an appointment, please notify us at least 24 hours in advance of your appointment so that we can provide that time to another client.

We understand that things come up and people forget about appointments, which is why our cancellation policy allows for 2 late-cancellations or no-shows. After your 3rd late cancellation or no-show within a 6 month period, we will be happy to schedule same-day appointments with you.

Therapist Availability

Correspondence between office visits is welcome. However, we attempt to keep contact between sessions to a minimum due to our belief that important issues are better addressed within regularly scheduled sessions. You may leave a secure message on the client portal for us at any time or on our confidential voicemail at 541-270-4717. If you would like for us to return your call, please be sure to leave your name and phone number, along with a brief message concerning the nature of your call. With the exception of holidays, non-urgent phone calls are returned during normal workdays (Monday through Friday) within 48 hours. If you have a medical or psychiatric emergency, please contact your primary care physician or the nearest emergency room and ask for the mental health crisis worker on call.

About the Therapy Process

It is our intention to provide professional services that will assist you in reaching your goals. Based upon the information that you provide to us and the specifics of your situation, we will provide recommendations to you regarding your treatment. We believe that therapists and clients are partners in the therapeutic process. Remember, therapy is a service that you purchase, and if you are not happy with the services received, it is your responsibility to make that known so we can discuss any hindrances to your progress. We will also periodically initiate discussions about the progress of treatment. Due to the varying nature and severity of problems and the individuality of each client, we are unable to predict the length of your therapy or guarantee a specific outcome or result.

Termination of Therapy

The length of your treatment and the timing of the eventual termination of your treatment depend on the specifics of your treatment plan and the progress you achieve. It is a good idea to plan for your termination in collaboration with your therapist. We will discuss a plan for termination with you as you approach the completion of your treatment goals.

You may discontinue therapy at any time. If you or your therapist determines that you are not benefiting from treatment, either you or your therapist may discuss your treatment alternatives. Treatment alternatives may include referral, changing your treatment plan, or terminating your therapy.
